Recluce units
Some of the units were not so clear to me, so here's my take on three of them. Part of the problem is that I'm no native English speaker :-) I got some input in september 2003 from Doug Bowles (thanks!) from Canada, and he's a native speaker alright.
Score = 20. Fourteenscore = 14*20, as is "score fourteen".
A cubit is some 45-50 cm. Or 18 inches (=45.72cm) (Doug Bowles, google). A really tall man is just over 4 cubits (beginning of white order). A bit under 2 meters sounds reasonable. That fits with the dictionary definition that says that it's the length of the forearm. You can convert it online using... google
A kay. Dunno. Sounds like a kilometer or a mile. Maximum 2 km I guess. Doug Bowles provided the answer, though,
by telling me he did some comparisons of the various spots where x kays are traveled in y days on foot or on horseback.
It fitted best with a kilometer. Or they could walk very fast or had excellent horses.
