The dreaded powerpoints.
File Building and Construction eXtensible Mark-up Language (bcXML)
Really early introduction on the eConstruct project. Conference paper for CIB workgroup 78 in South Africa.
File bcXML, an XML Vocabulary for Building and Construction
Another early eConstruct paper, this time mostly with comparisons to other formats.
File eConstruct: expectations, solutions and results
Pretty expansive journal paper showing what we cooked up near the end of the eConstruct project.

High level overview of the eConstruct architecture. Paper for the 2001 e-business and e-work conference in Venice.

Official EU project document (deliverable 501).
File BcXML enabled VR project information front-ends
Nice paper with lots of thoughts on integrating graphical information with eConstruct's data formats. Also includes my first written thoughts on simple http-based webservices. Paper for the ecppm conference in Slovenia.
File How bcXML handles construction semantics
Paper describing eConstruct's bcxml data format, the LexiCon it is based on. Also notes on how to use it, especially together with graphical information. Paper for CIB workgroup 78's 2002 conference in Denmark.
File Virtual reality information front-end
More or less practical examples and thoughts on handling graphical information within eConstruct. Official EU project document (deliverable 602).

Research on the applicability of all sorts of visualisation and VR technologies (mostly web-related) vor eConstruct. Official EU project document (deliverable 601).
File Clarity in the usage of the terms ontology, taxonomy and classification
My go at figuring out the difference between taxonomies, ontologies and classifications. Including some guidelines at how to use the terms. Paper for the 2003 CIB workgroup 78 conference in Auckland.
File Semantic web technologies applied to building specifications
Thoughts on the fit between building specifications and semantic web technologies. Paper for the 2004 CIB conference in Toronto.
File Practical use of the semantic web: lessons learned and opportunities found
