Handy plone.org search

How to fire off a quick search on plone's website.

Doing a quick search on plone.org is something I do often. Hey, going to http://plone.org, clicking in the search box, typing your query, hitting "return": way too much work.

Instead, right-click inside that search box, select "Add a Keyword for this search" and give it the shortcut "plone". The next time you want to search something on http://plone.org, just type "plone your search term" into firefox' address bar. That's it. (Oh, and use control-L or command-L to get to that address bar while you're at it).

I already knew this was possible and I had already crafted such a special bookmark, but a list of 15 firefox tricks showed the right-click-trick that makes it much easier.

True lazy human beings now question my sanity for not using the much shorter shortcut "p". Well, truth is, that's already taken for something else :-) Good question, though.
